Materials: DriveWear®

Drivewear is powered by using two of the most advanced technologies found in the eyeglass industry today: Transitions® Photochromic Technology and the NuPolar® polarisation technology. The human eye is a wonderfully designed instrument to collect visual information. Drivewear’s three different “stages” have all been designed to maximize the eye’s natural abilities in each of the different light conditions encountered both outside in direct light and behind the windshield of a car.

Low Light and Overcast

High contrast green/yellow colour.

Designed to maximize useful light information reaching the eye.

Polarised to remove glare that would otherwise destroy vision in low light conditions.

Daylight and Driving Conditions

Copper colour.

Designed to remove excess light and to provide good traffic signal recognition.

Polarised to remove glare for safe driving vision.

Bright Light and Outside Conditions

Dark reddish-brown colour.

Designed for maximum filtration of excess light so that the eye does not get saturated.

Polarised to provide maximum comfort in high light conditions.

Technology

Drivewear lenses feature a high efficiency polarizer never before found in such a high contrast, light colour. This colour was chosen and designed to maximize useful light reaching the eye in low light and overcast conditions.

One of the most unique and special attributes of Drivewear is that it is the only photochromic lens to darken behind the windshield of a car. Exposed to visible light, the lens changes to a copper colour, which many drivers find, is the most comfortable colour for driving.

Outdoors, Drivewear is activated by UV and visible light and deepens to a dark reddish-brown color. This color was designed for maximum filtration of excess light and to provide maximum protection from bright light and blinding glare.
