Attitude™
High-base lenses for wrap frames. These Freeform lenses are available in single-vision (Smart Attitude) and progressive (Autograph Attitude) designs.
Autograph®
The Autograph is our range of Freeform progressive lenses, available with standard or short corridor. The Autograph Attitude is suitable for wraps and sports frames and is also available with standard or short corridor.
Cool™
A specialist Freeform progressive designed for children who might otherwise need a bifocal—which any child will tell you is not as cool as a Cool.
Creation™
Mid-range progressive design optimised to produce a flatter and thinner lens. The Creation fits between our traditional Genesis and Piccolo designs and our Freeform designs.
DriveWear®
A specialised lens material developed by Younger Optics, DriveWear is a polarised photochromic lens that changes colour even behind a windscreen, making it especially suitable for driving.
EyePoint Technology®
Shamir EyePoint Technology is lens design software developed by our R&D scientists. Incorporating a dedicated ray-tracing algorithm (see Wikipedia article) and wave front computation (see Wikipedia article), this software enables Shamir to design advanced and optimised Freeform lenses.
Freeform®
Lens made using digital CNC machinery to cut the lens design and the patient’s prescription on the back surface. Software optimises the combination of design and prescription, resulting in a lens that is superior to a traditional design. We make Freeform progressives under the Autograph name and Freeform occupational and single-vision lenses under the Smart name.
FreeFrame™
The Autograph FreeFrame is a top-of-the-range Freeform progressive optimised not only for the patient’s prescription, but also for the frame into which the lenses will be fitted.
Genesis™
The Genesis is our best-selling standard-corridor progressive lens. If you need a short-corridor lens, consider the Piccolo.
Glacier™
Our best coating. Glacier is a scratch-resistant, hydrophobic, anti-reflective coating with an additional anti-static layer.
Occupational Lens
An occupational lens is designed for people who work within a relatively small radius. It is made like a progressive lens, except that a large reading area is provided in the lower half and the power degresses in the upper half to provide a good mid-distance area. Occupational lenses are ideal for office workers and for people involved in engineering, cookery, sewing, woodwork, motor maintenance—and anybody who finds themselves peering over their readers or pushing them up onto their foreheads.
Office™
The Office is our occupational lens. A Freeform version is also available under the Smart Office brand name.
Piccolo™
The Piccolo is our best-selling short-corridor progressive lens. If you need a standard-corridor lens, consider the Genesis.
Smart™
Our range of Freeform single-vision (Smart SV) and occupational (Smart Office) lenses. The Smart SV Attitude is an 8-base single-vision lens suitable for use in wraps and sports frames.
Spectrum™
Our range of budget Freeform lenses.
Transitions®
A photochromic lens treatment developed by Transitions Optical, Inc. A Transitions lens is almost completely clear indoors but darkens rapidly when exposed to bright sunlight.
