Lens Designs: Occupational

Occupational lenses are used to provide what are basically progressive reading glasses. Because the lenses are progressive, they provide a much greater depth of field than single-vision reading glasses, enabling the wearer to both read and see clearly across the room.

Occupational lenses provide a large reading area that degresses upwards to provide clear vision in the upper part of the lens for distances of up to 4 metres, depending on the lens design and the prescription.

Occupational lenses are not just for people who work in an office environment! Anybody whose work requires clear vision within the near range will benefit from occupational lenses, including woodworkers, dressmakers, motor mechanics, cooks, gardeners and many, many others.

Important: occupational lens are not suitable for driving!
